Georgia At London Wine Fair: Producer Profiles

28th April 2026

It’s genuinely great to see so many Georgian producers together at the London Wine Fair this year. You don’t often get this kind of line-up in one place — from well-established names to smaller, newer wineries finding their voice.

It makes it much easier to get a real feel for what Georgian wine looks like today: different regions, different styles, and a mix of tradition and modern thinking. If you’re curious about Georgia, this is a very good place to start!

Now, meet our heroes:

Askaneli

Founded in 1998 by the Chkhaidze brothers, Askaneli is one of Georgia’s largest wine companies, with roots in the Gurian village of Askana and a family cellar dating back to the 19th century.

The company owns extensive vineyards, two wineries in Kakheti and Tbilisi, and a fruit distillery in Guria. Alongside a broad wine portfolio, Askaneli also produces brandy, chacha and sparkling wine, combining modern equipment with traditional qvevri winemaking for selected wines.

Badagoni

Founded in 2006 in Zemo Khodasheni in Kakheti, Badagoni has grown into one of Georgia’s leading wine producers.

The company combines large-scale production with modern technology and works closely with the Italian research centre Enosis Meraviglia and oenologist Dr Donato Lanati.

Badagoni is also closely linked to the revival of monastic wine at Alaverdi Monastery and uses both international winemaking equipment and traditional Georgian methods.

Binekhi Winery

Binekhi Winery is a premium-focused producer that blends Georgian winemaking tradition with modern European techniques. Founded by Givi Gigineishvili and his team, the winery concentrates particularly on red and amber wines made from indigenous grape varieties.

With an annual production of around 300,000 bottles, Binekhi works across qvevri and classic styles, with an emphasis on craftsmanship, structure and variety.

Bolero & Company

Established in 2012, Bolero & Company is a major Georgian holding active in wine, brandy and spirit production and export.

Its operations include several subsidiaries, production facilities in Kakheti, and the historic Gurjaani winery Gruzvinprom, known for its large grape-processing capacity, ancient qvevri cellar and extensive brandy reserves.

Since 2020, Bolero has been one of Georgia’s leading exporters of bottled alcoholic beverages, including wine, brandy and chacha.

Château Buera

Founded in 2018 by Goga Maisuradze, the founder of Lopota Spa Resort, Château Buera is a winery and hospitality destination in Napareuli.

The estate works with both Georgian and French varieties, including Kisi, Mtsvane, Rkatsiteli, Saperavi, Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay and Merlot, and has also championed the rare local Buera grape.

Château Buera combines stainless steel, qvevri and French oak in production, with a focus on quality, terroir and wine tourism.

Giuaani

Giuaani is a family winery in Manavi, Kakheti, built on the long winemaking history of the Giuashvili family.

Officially founded in 2010, the company produces premium wines on a larger scale while remaining rooted in family tradition and local identity.

The winery works with stainless steel, qvevri and oak, produces around 400,000 bottles annually, and is especially closely associated with Manavi and the Kakhuri Mtsvane grape.

GK Winery

Founded in 2021 in Nukriani, in the Kiziki area of Kakheti, GK Winery continues a family tradition that goes back to the 20th century, when the Mchedlishvili brothers were already producing and exporting wine.

The winery produces both qvevri and barrel-aged wines and focuses on rare Georgian grape varieties, updating its portfolio regularly.

GK Winery currently produces around 100,000 bottles per year and combines inherited knowledge with modern technology.

Ikano Estate

Ikano Estate is the wine project of JSC Friends’ Cellar, a group founded by wine-loving friends from 11 countries and active in Georgia since 2008.

Located in the Kindzmarauli appellation, the estate owns more than 27 hectares of vineyards and focuses on sustainable, hand-crafted viticulture.

Its vineyards are now certified organic, and the winery produces limited quantities of qvevri wines with minimal intervention, using hand-harvested fruit and careful grape selection.

JSC Corporation Kindzmarauli

Based in Kvareli, JSC Corporation Kindzmarauli is a Georgian wine producer whose cellar history dates back to 1533, when a royal wine cellar was established at Kvareli Fortress.

Today the company owns 175 hectares of vineyards across the Kvareli, Kindzmarauli and Napareuli appellations and works with 15 indigenous and international grape varieties.

It combines deep historical roots with modern, energy-efficient production and a strong focus on vineyard-to-bottle quality control.

Kakhetian Traditional Winemaking (KTW)

KTW is one of the largest producers of wine and alcoholic beverages in Georgia, with activities spanning wine and spirits, hospitality, agribusiness, retail and tourism.

The group operates several wineries and distilleries, including facilities in Velistsikhe, Patardzeuli, Manavi and Keda, and has major production capacity in both wine and brandy.

Alongside large-scale production, KTW is also involved in heritage-driven projects such as Château Askana and the restored Guramishvili’s Marani.

Nimbi

Nimbi is a modern Georgian wine project focused on small-batch production and a clean, thoughtful approach to winemaking. Working with main Georgian grape varieties, such as Saperavi and Rkatsiteli, the team combines traditional elements with a contemporary style, aiming for wines that are precise, balanced and easy to engage with.

Driving the vision behind the wines is Riccardo Cotarella, whose influence shapes the overall direction and standards of the project. Nimbi reflects a younger wave of Georgian producers, bringing a fresh perspective to the local identity.

Periani

Founded in 2003, Periani is a modern wine company based in Vejini, on the right bank of the Alazani River.

The estate combines traditional and classic winemaking methods and works with a diverse range of Georgian grape varieties, including Saperavi, Khikhvi, Vardisperi (Pink) Rkatsiteli, Kakhuri Mtsvane, Kakhuri Mtsvivani, Aleksandrouli, Ojaleshi, Shavkapito, Chinuri and Tavkveri. With vineyards spread over 50 hectares and modern processing equipment, Periani places strong emphasis on terroir, quality control and environmentally responsible farming.

Tsereteli Winery

Tsereteli Winery is the family winery of the renowned artist Zurab Tsereteli and presents Georgian wine through the lens of art, heritage and craftsmanship.

The company produces authentic Georgian wines inspired by the country’s long winemaking tradition, while also aiming to meet modern international expectations. Its visual identity is closely tied to Zurab Tsereteli’s work, with labels featuring his sculptures and drawings.

Winery Saba

Located in Kakheti, Winery Saba is a premium producer working with fruit from its own 23-hectare estate.

The winery manages the full production process itself and focuses on hand-picked grapes, clean winemaking and minimal intervention.

Its range includes Saperavi, Saperavi Rosé, Kisi and Khikhvi, and the brand places particular emphasis on origin, sustainability and the idea of wine as both product and story.

We hope to see you at the London Wine Fair, 18th- 20th May at OIympia.
