This sparkling wine specialist is named in honour of Prince Ivane Bagration of Mukhrani, the wine-loving prince who introduced sparkling wine production in Georgia in 1882, using the techniques he had witnessed in Champagne.
Today’s company dates from 1937 and dominates sparkling wine production and sales in Georgia. The winery is full of new, and top-spec, Italian equipment. Both Charmat and Traditional method wines are made from a variety of grapes grown in the cool regions of Imereti and Kartli.
Bagrationi’s “Classic Brut NV” is a delicious and characterful sparkling which showcases the floral aromatics and vivacity of their terroir and grapes. Made from the white grapes Chinuri, Mtsvane and Tsitska, this fresh, appley sparkling is delicious with tempura, calamari and crispy fried chicken.
