Following a successful launch in 2021, the National Wine Agency of Georgia is continuing to offer a marketing fund to directly support UK indies in expanding their listings and support of Georgian wine.
The Indie Trade Alliance Fund recognises the critical role of Indies in bringing Georgian wine to consumers across the UK. The support from the National Wine Agency reflects the strong and rapid growth of Georgian wine exports to the UK, as well as the buzz around Georgian wine, food, and culture in UK media.
Georgian wine exports to the UK increased year on year by 72% in 2021, and are predicted to continue to grow as producers seek to diversify markets with wines of ever-improving quality.
The Indie Trade Alliance Fund in 2021 awarded grants to nine indies across the UK, generating increased and sustained sales of Georgian wine. Winners were inspired by the richness of Georgian culture and food to create exciting promotions including in-store tastings, wine dinner partnerships, Georgian wine weeks, and educational content.
Our promotion in October was a great success. We’ve been able to introduce many more customers to our range of fantastic Georgian wines, which is just super news. Oxford Wine Company
