Georgian Wine Tasting on 15th June 2017
Nearly 100 Wine buyers and wine press are expected for Wines of Georgia’s first ever UK trade and press tasting in London this week. Over 30 producers from across Georgian wine regions and styles have sent their wines. The event, which is being held at Carousel in Marylebone, features more than 80 wines selected to show the diversity and range of contemporary Georgian wine.
Sarah Abbott, Master of Wine, and Robert Joseph, a global wine thought leader, have worked with the National Wine Agency of Georgia to prepare the tasting and a masterclass featuring wines from Saperavi, Georgia’s native and noble red grape.
Award-winning start to 2017 for Georgia
The event follows the best year ever for Georgian exports in 2016. This year started with a stand-out performance for Georgian wine in both the Decanter World Wine Awards and the International Wine Challenge, with Georgian wines winning an unprecedented number of Gold medals and trophies.
