We are delighted to announce, on behalf of the National Wine Agency of Georgia, an expanded program of events, content and collaboration in 2023.
The trade program includes a London tasting on 23rd May; a Georgian pavilion at the London Wine Fair; two masterclasses at the London Wine Fair in collaboration with IWSC; two virtual tastings presented by Sarah Abbott MW in May and September; participation at SITT September in London and Manchester; two incoming trips; ongoing press office, and a trade bureau to help connect prospective importers and producers.
For everyone interested in Georgian wine and wine culture, we are holding a Weekend Festival of Georgian wine in collaboration with The Dartington Trust. Developed by Masters of Wine Justin Howard Sneyd and Sarah Abbott, and the experts at Dartington, the festival will take place at the Dartington Estate in Devon from 13th to 15th October. You can sign up here to be notified as soon as bookings open. This amazing experience will be open to anyone who wishes to buy a ticket. Full details of the program, tickets, sponsors and speakers will be published shortly. Session, day, weekend and residential packages will be available.
2023 is the sixth year of National Wine Agency support for the UK market. This sustained investment has been rewarded by an increase in exports, and the improved availability of Georgian wine in the market. Georgian wines are now distributed by major agencies including Berkmann, Boutinot, Hallgarten Novum, and Liberty, and by specialist premium importers such as Clark Foyster, Astrum Wine Cellars, and Lea and Sandeman. The depth of Georgian wine in the UK is supported by a number of outstanding specialist Georgian importers such as Gardabani Wines, Taste of Georgia, GinVino, Transylvania Wine, GvinoUK, and GeoNaturals.
